Luscious brambly fruits and woodsy notes are distinctive in this wine. Highly aromatic and boisterous, red raspberries, violets and redwood forest notes frame the silky, lush palate. Bright blackberry and plum flavors combine with cherry blossom and fresh cedar, highlighted by juniper and bay laurel; unique markers for Pinot Noir from this region. The wine is a rich ruby color with purple core, and refreshing brightness.

  • Varietal: Pinot Noir
  • Vineyard Notes: Just an hour north from Sonoma County is the Anderson Valley AVA, surrounded by redwood forests, bordered by the Mendocino coastline. A mix of certified sustainable and organic vineyards, Anderson Valley is much colder than other areas in California because the valley runs north-west, opening up to the Pacific Ocean. Our 2022 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is sourced from vineyards in the "Deep End" of Anderson Valley, which is the northern end closest to the ocean. There is prominent marine influence in the region, bringing cool evenings and foggy mornings which create the perfect growing conditions for delicate grapes like Pinot Noir.|

BRICK & MORTAR
Founded in 2011, brick & mortar focuses on single-vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, from select high-elevation vineyards. Like the great European wineries, they believe that the best wines express a unique time and place. So they let each of their distinct Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Mendocino Ridge vineyards speak for themselves, with minimal intervention. They pick early, ferment with native yeasts, and use oak and sulfur judiciously, resulting in low-alcohol wines of grace and finesse.
Shipping States
Brick & Mortar cannot ship to the following 6 states: AR, DE, LA, MS, RI, UT.

Wine Details
This bottle has the following characteristics:
Anderson Valley
The 2022 vintage was a season filled with curveballs. In the Anderson Valley, the growing season began with ideal weather conditions through early summer, until an extended heat event beginning in late August accelerated the harvest and reduced yields for our Pinot Noir. For many California wine regions, this was a tale of two harvests, as a Labor Day heat wave divided the season into earlier and later picks. 2022 was an excellent vintage that made wines with beautiful intensity and great structure.
Matt Iaconis
All lots of Pinot Noir undergo an extended cold soak until native yeasts begin a spontaneous fermentation in open-top fermenters. De-stemmed grapes are punched down by hand once to twice per day. Our small lot fermentations take upwards of a month to finish, before a light pressing to barrel for their aging.
