Immersed in the rich legacy of four generations of Hungarian winemaking, Csaba Szakál's approach is a seamless fusion of time-honored old-world techniques and dynamic new-world innovation. His journey into the craft began at the side of his father, István, and his grandfather, Béla, where he learned the art of winemaking from a young age. A chance meeting with his future wife, Sandra Scott, a native of Sonoma wine country, brought him to the vines of Napa and Sonoma Valley. Through Sandra, Csaba was introduced to a network of passionate grape-growers, and together, they embarked on a transformative journey of crafting their first wines in the humble confines of their garage—laying the foundation for a new chapter in winemaking.
