Founded on the vision of crafting wines that reflect both place and precision, the estate has become a benchmark for sustainably farmed, estate-grown Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. Its dramatic hillside vineyards, carved into diverse soils and microclimates, provide ideal conditions for cultivating grapes of exceptional character and intensity. The first vines were planted on the estate in 1979 by Jean-Jacques Michel, who was from Switzerland. In 1991, Jacques Pierre Schlumberger, whose family had been making wine in Alsace, France for over 400 years, joined the team. It was at this point that the Michel-Schlumberger brand was born.
