Massimo, the owner and winemaker of Perluca, began his journey in Las Vegas, Nevada where his father crafted his first vintage using Syrah grapes from Santa Barbara County. Massimo observed, as his father ingeniously turned their garage into a makeshift winery, complete with a vertical press and a garden hose ingeniously repurposed to extract the wine for his first vintage. His father's dedication amidst such an unconventional setup taught Massimo an invaluable lesson: Pursue your passion relentlessly, regardless of the odds.
The Khoros is made from the Verdelho grape, and is bright and layered, with aromas of citrus blossom, green apple, and white peach. The palate is crisp and mineral-driven, balancing orchard fruit with subtle salinity and fresh acidity, finishing clean and precise with quiet persistence.
