Michel-Schlumberger - Dry Creek Valley Wine Estate is a hidden gem nestled in the serene western hills of Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley, where Old World tradition meets New World innovation. Founded on the vision of crafting wines that reflect both place and precision, the estate has become a benchmark for sustainably farmed, estate-grown Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. Its dramatic hillside vineyards, carved into diverse soils and microclimates, provide ideal conditions for cultivating grapes of exceptional character and intensity. The first vines were planted on the estate in 1979 by Jean-Jacques Michel, who was from Switzerland. In 1991, Jacques Pierre Schlumberger, whose family had been making wine in Alsace, France for over 400 years, joined the team. It was at this point that the Michel-Schlumberger brand was born. Every wine at Michel-Schlumberger - Dry Creek Valley Wine Estate is a testament to the land, and is hand-farmed, meticulously vinified, and gracefully aged to capture the essence of Dry Creek Valley’s rugged beauty.
The Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with aromas of dark plum, black currant, and black cherry. It is ripe, but not jammy, with classic mountain fruit intensity. On the palate, it has impressive depth, with layered notes of plum and cassis, and well-structured tannins that provide both grip and poise.
