Sonoma Coast Vin Clair 2021

$38.00 / 750 ml
The 2021 vintage produced a wine that is intensely aromatic; cantaloupe and nectarine intertwine with lemongrass and red apple skin. The palate is high in acidity, highlighting tart yellow grapefruit, lemon balm and yellow plum.

  • Varietal percentages: 50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir
  • Vineyard(s): Home Block Vineyard
  • Vineyard Notes: The fruit for the Vin Clair is sourced from Home Block Vineyard, which is organically farmed and centered in the heart of Carneros in the Sonoma Coast AVA. Influenced by cooler daytime temperatures and gentle breezes, Home Block is one of the closest vineyards to the San Pablo Bay - the major water inlet near San Francisco that leads to the Pacific Ocean. Planted in the early-2000s, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at Home Block resides primarily on Haire clay loam soil.

BRICK & MORTAR
Founded in 2011, brick & mortar focuses on single-vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, from select high-elevation vineyards. Like the great European wineries, they believe that the best wines express a unique time and place. So they let each of their distinct Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Mendocino Ridge vineyards speak for themselves, with minimal intervention. They pick early, ferment with native yeasts, and use oak and sulfur judiciously, resulting in low-alcohol wines of grace and finesse.
Shipping States
Brick & Mortar cannot ship to the following 6 states: AR, DE, LA, MS, RI, UT.

Wine Details
This bottle has the following characteristics:
Sonoma Coast
Vin Clair is fresh and lively, a unique white wine that's perfect to start a meal, and will satisfy those "anything but Chardonnay" drinkers.
Matt Iaconis
Vin Clair is made in the same light as producing a base wine for Champagne. We harvest the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the same day. Both lots are pressed together and settled via gravity. We then coferment the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay juice in barrels just like we would Chardonnay.
Native, indigenous yeast fermentations. Barrel fermented.
