Rosé of Grenache El Dorado 2023

$28.00 / 750 ml
Bright and crisp structure while still maintaining a burst of juicy fruit flavors that leave your mouth watering. The dominant flavors in the wine are characterized by grapefruit, lemongrass, strawberry, and cucumber. Notes of watermelon, peach blossom, and lime can be found too. The structure is driven by the crisp acidity and short palate-cleansing finish.
  • Varietal percentages: 100% Grenache
  • Vineyard(s): Starfield Vineyards
  • Vineyard Notes: With 31 acres under vines the Starfield Vineyards is east of Placerville in the El Dorado AVA. The site is at 2400 feet elevation in the Foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The high elevation delays the start of the growing season by a few weeks at Starfield. Yet, the intensity of the sun at high altitudes means the grapes catch up in sugar accumulation and phenolic ripeness.
  • Farming: Sustainable practices
  • Certifications: Fish Friendly Farming Certified

Wine Details
This bottle has the following characteristics:
El Dorado
The Grenache grapes were hand-harvested overnight from Starfield Vineyard and sent to the winery with no sulfur. The grapes were then gently foot tread as a method of traditional light color extraction. We allowed the liberated juice to rest on the grape skins overnight and pressed the grapes the early next morning. The wine went to bottle with a minimally effective level of SO2. Free SO2 25 ppm. Provence-inspired style of dry rosé with Residual Sugar measuring at 1.0 g/L.
Primary fermentation initiated within a day and completed under cool temperatures.
