  • Vineyard Notes: The fruit for this wine was sourced from the 150 acre Yamhill Valley Vineyard. Located in the rolling foothills of the Coast range mountains, this site sits one hour southwest of Portland in the heart of the Willamette Valley. The vineyard ranges from 200 feet to 600 feet in elevation, spanning two dominant soil types: volcanic and marine sedimentary. This is a cool climate growing region, located within the Van Duzer Corridor- a wind effect that brings in cool, marine air in the evenings and serves multiple purposes: winds to keep the canopy and tight clusters of grapes dry, cooling effect for a strong diurnal temperature shift that maintain acidity in the fruit, and thickening of the grapes' skins in response to the wind, increasing the skin to juice ratio.

RICOCHET
To ricochet is to bounce back. Not always in a predictable direction or velocity, but there's a bounce off a wall, figuratively or otherwise. Life is full of metaphoric ricochets. It all starts with a story, and Erich's ability to bounce back is how Ricochet became the vision behind the brand. From winemaker to English teacher, back to winemaking, Ricochet started with only two tons in 2018 and is now up to 30 tons of naturally balanced, terroir-driven wine.
Shipping States
