Winemaker Notes
(Planted 1854) There is an added sense of awe and responsibility when you work with vines planted prior to the Gold Rush, especially when it is one that is revered as much as Bedrock. I take pride in working with this fruit and try to honor its heritage by adding Limerick Lane's chapter to its wonderful story. In the cellar, the goal is to retain a sense of place, nuance, and finesse while respecting its signature traits of power and structure. I feel this was achieved but patience in your cellar or decanting this wine will be rewarded, as the wine has ample tannins.
