 Winemaker Notes
While I enjoy expressing terroir via vineyard-designated wines, there is something about the art of the blend that makes for a truly unique and complete wine. For example, I may bump up the Banfield percentage if the wine needs more natural acidity. If it needs some weight on the mid-palate, in goes some Maffei. If it needs a little more structure, I reach for some Limerick estate wine to add to the blend. The resulting wine is intentional, balanced, and nuanced and encapsulates what I believe to be the essence of Russian River Valley Zinfandel.
