Freisa

Freisa dAsti DOC Blenda 2022

Extremely approachable for Freisa. Luca finds a way to have the aromatics dance out of the glass. Fresh fruit, red and blue, with a hint of mint. Secondary earth notes on the palate do not take away from the youthfulness of this wine. tannic structures and acid are prevalent on a long pleasing finish.

Freisa

Poco Dopo Un Ferragosto Rosso 2020

Luca finds new ways to bring back ancient methods. His label, "Just after the mid August Holiday," is his announcement of how he makes his wine. A slight carbonic, slow fermentation that allows the deep development of Freisa while retaining a freshness. A joyous wine, yet thought provoking.

About the Winery

Map Pin Icon Located in Piedmont, IT
Freisa has always been cultivated on our hills. Our ancestors first of all understood the very high potential that linking this vine to this micro territory would have. The soils of Pino d'Asti and the adjacent hills have always been characterized by a strong presence of fossil residues testifying to their past as seabeds. Limestone, sand and springs of silt and clay scattered here and there. A unique microclimate contributes to making this territory special for Freisa. Mild in winter and breezy in summer. Enough to make the cultivation of olive trees possible and still active. This is precisely why we have always found Freisa grown in the best plots. Leaving the other vines at the bottom of the valley and on the mid-ridges. Barbera, Malvasia and in some cases Nebbiolo.
