Suisun Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2023
$34.00 / 750 ml
This is a fuller-bodied Sauvignon Blanc, with a nose of spiced apples, sweet vanilla and grilled peaches. The palate is equally as complex as the nose and enjoys a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Baking spices and lemon mousse round out the flavor profile, but persistent acidity helps the wine to finish lighter and brighter than expected.

Winemaker Notes
Turks Head Wines produces its Sauvignon Blanc from the Suisun Valley with a winemaking process that emphasizes the wine's natural acidity and fruit character, while imparting subtle complexity through barrel aging. Unlike some of our other Sauvignon Blanc expressions, our Suisun Valley Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged exclusively in 100% used oak barrels. This choice is deliberate, as it allows the wine to soften and develop texture without the powerful influence of new oak, which can introduce strong flavors of vanilla and toast that would overpower the delicate aromas of the grape. This gentle approach to aging enhances the wine's depth and mouthfeel while preserving its bright, fresh notes of citrus and stone fruit, which are characteristic of the Suisun Valley terroir.
