The Story

Seavey Vineyard founders, William and Mary Seavey, acquired the 200-acre parcel, now the Seavey Estate, in 1979. Their renovated stone winery building was originally part of the Franco Swiss Winery operation in the 1800's and their vineyards are deeply rooted in Napa's wine history.

The Values

Production from the estate's 40 planted acres is approximately 3,000 cases annually. This small-scale production allows them to maintain consistently high standards in both the vineyard and the winery. They've never bought a grape and they farm their land with their in-house crew. Stewarded by Jim Duane, their winemaker, and also Philippe Melka, their consulting winemaker. Seavey's goal is to create masterful, soulful wines that exude a sense of place and age gracefully.
From the winery
“There are no shortcuts in the vineyard. Our wine’s best friend is time, with patience being a gift you give to yourself.”
— William A. Seavey, Founder
