The Story

Sant'Angelus was born out of the desire to build a business centered around family for Bryan and Amy Williams and their 2 daughters. We chose Canonica not only for its unparalleled agricultural attributes but also for its hillside location. The lush scenery and history of the Umbrian countryside and the town of Todi enthralled us.

Our wine philosophy is to make the best wine possible by first controlling the cultivation process from start to finish on our estate. By starting with excellent fruit, our ability to make a great wine is enhanced. We also strive to make our wines well balanced first and powerful second. Finally, we like blends, like our Canonica, because they give us flexibility and more freedom to create the ideal wine without being tied to the traditional classification system.
From the winery
The Sant’Angelus winemaker is Alessandro Carletto. Not only is Alessandro extremely qualified, with degrees in enology and agriculture from the University of Perugia, but he understands what we are trying to achieve with our wines and the company. Together, investing in the best agricultural processes, winemaking processes, and the best barrels, we try to make the best wines possible.
