The nose features aromas reminiscent of cozy winter evenings: vanilla, barrel spice, blueberry and chai tea. A hint of fresh blackberry keeps things bright and transitions to the palate with cardamom, and a subtle nod to calabrian chili. The dark, full, spicy palate is layered and well-structured. Cocoa powder, espresso beans, nutmeg, and white peppercorn add complexity to the bevvy of dense blue fruit on display.

  • Vineyard Notes: Owned and farmed by Harry Peterson-Nedry, Wind Ridge vineyard abuts Peterson-Nedry's Ridgecrest Vineyard in the Ribbon Ridge AVA. It's more southern aspect results in fruit that ripens a bit earlier and contains slightly more tannin that it's counterpart in our cellar. Both remain quinessential examples of Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir.

This bottle has the following characteristics:
Ribbon Ridge
A seven-day cold soak maceration encourages soft extraction of color and flavors. A combination of whole cluster and whole berries ferment spontaneously via native yeast in jacketed stainless steel tanks. Following a gentle press cycles, the wine is in barrel for a 16-month elevage in 40% new oak barrels with racking only occuring just prior to bottling.
