The Story

Every one of Alexana's wines is driven by each vineyard's unique site-specific climate and terroir. Winemaker Tresider Burns's artfully restrained approach to winemaking allows each vintage to tell the vineyard's story of the growing season. He utilizes our gravity-flow winemaking facility and employs a delicate fermentation process with small lot fermentations and native yeasts. He pays attention to every detail to craft texture-driven wines of purity, sophistication, balance and elegance.

The Values

In 2005, while representing his Napa Winery, Revana, at a wine conference, Dr. Revana met Lynn Penner- Ash, owner of Penner-Ash Wine Cellars. He shared his love of the great wines of Burgundy and became fast friends with her. In the spring of that same year, Dr. Revana enlisted Lynn's expertise to begin a search for both the ideal piece of land and an experienced winemaker to produce Pinot Noirs that could rival those from Burgundy. Since its founding in 2005, the Alexana Estate is a geologically diverse 55-acre parcel consisting of 18 different soil types. The vineyard is dry-farmed and located between 360–640 feet elevation in the pristine Dundee Hills AVA where sustainable and biodynamic farming methods are applied to cultivate premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Farmed completely by hand, we employ a variety of sustainable farming practices in Alexana’s Revana Estate Vineyard to promote soil health, encourage consistent and exceptional grapes, and ensure the longevity of our small vineyard.
