Elyse Winery Wine Tasting Living in Zin
Gain insights into our vineyard source selection and winemaking techniques by tasting through this incredible flight of vineyard designate Zinfandels. Each row of our vineyards requires specific farming techniques to heighten expression of fruit and terroir. We love taking risks in farming. The rewards are worth it.
Wine Flight
Dry Creek Zinfandel 2019
Crafted from hundred-year-old vines, this Zinfandel opens with a nose of blackberry, crushed peppercorns, and roasted coffee beans. The brambly nature continues to the pallet with flavors of mixed berry pie and wild raspberry preserves. Dense and packed, yet polished on the finish, this wine displays the unique character that only ancient vines can achieve.
Korte Ranch Zinfandel 2019
A bright and refreshing Zinfandel with balanced fruit of red currants, strawberries, and rhubarb. A mid-palate of mission figs, soft white pepper, and cardamom cider spice eases into a satisfying and refreshingly polished finished.
Morisoli Vineyard Zinfandel 2019
The cornerstone of the Elyse portfolio, the deep fruit and intensity of this site shine through yet again. Aromas of dark plum and baked cranberries draw you into the glass. Lively acidity carries the weight of this Zinfandel seamlessly across the palate with vibrant flavors of Bing cherry and roasted strawberry intermixed with cinnamon, clove, and vanilla bean. The purity of this wine is a direct reflection of this historic vineyard site.

About the Winery
Wines with a Sense of Place. From what started with a handful of barrels made from a dear friend's vineyard in 1987, Elyse Winery has been the waypoint for countless wine lovers to experience California wines and fall in love with wines and vineyards of all regions and acclaim. After thirty years of stewardship, Ray and Nancy decided that it was time to retire. What began as a casual conversation over dinner evolved into the next chapter for Elyse Winery. In October 2018, Ray and Nancy Coursen sold Elyse Winery to fellow Yountville locals, Josh Peeples, and his partner, Cheryl Foil. Perfect timing for both parties, the torch has been passed to continue the same passion for the decades to come.
