Cabernet Sauvignon - Rutherford 2018
Our 2018 Rutherford Cabernet shows a delicate, earthy, bouquet of lavender, dried leaves and rum raisin. It displays a nice balance of the savory side of Cabernet from western Rutherford and the structured, dark-fruited eastern bench in the same AVA. Seamless tannins, red fruits, sage, graphite, and hint of toasty French oak lead to a long and focused finish; the earth and oak notes develop delightfully for over a minute. A rare treat, this Cabernet does not need a food pairing because of its delicacy and completeness, but it would do well with roasted duck, lamb chops, or with a savory charcuterie plate.
Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley 2018
The 2018 Bell Reserve Cabernet displays a beautiful inky color in the glass. The aroma contains layers of ripe mulberry, hibiscus, pine, forest floor and a hint of pencil shavings. Blueberry compote, cassis and pastry flavors abound on the palate, yielding a wine with long, linear flavors. The finish is very focused, with bright acidity that makes you want to come back for another sip and will pair well with hearty foods. We recommend decanting if you plan to enjoy this soon but expect this wine to age well and develop for more than a decade.
