I started my career as a professional cook at the age of 17 and quickly realized that wasn't the career for me. I found wine at the age of 20 and knew immediately that I wanted to work with it in one way or another. I passed my Intro Sommelier exam at 21 and passed my certification exam with the highest score at 24. After working in several different sectors in the wine industry, I realized that my passion was in wine education. After this realization, I decided to go the WSET route as well and passed my WSET Level 3 in Wine with Merit. My goal is to go all the way through both testings systems and become a Master Sommelier AND a Master of Wine. As of now, if/when I achieve either goal, I will be the first Black woman to hold either title, let alone both. Even though wine is my passion, I've never stopped loving food and the world of culinary arts. In my free time I'm always making or eating something new and interesting and pairing it with something amazing!
