Single Vineyard Wines From Napa and Sonoma

Brian Malk started Malk Family Vineyards in 1998 after over 20 years of dreaming about owning a vineyard in the United States. He found the perfect site in the foothills of the Palisades in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, and purchased the 11 acre property. The vineyard edges up against the famed Fay Vineyard, prime Cabernet Sauvignon land, and that is the only grape planted on his sustainably farmed estate vineyard. He has also integrated some biodynamic practices into his farming, such as owl boxes that provide homes for owls (who in turn do a fantastic job controlling rodents), bat boxes to help with the mosquito population, and bee colonies, which help pollinate and provide local honey. Over time, Malk has developed strong and long lasting relationships with other growers whose views on farming are compatible, and he's lucky enough to get his Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc from the same vineyards year after year.

What a fantastic experience. The Sommsation staff was literally sensational, and our sommelier was accessible, knowledgeable and fun. Everyone learned so much while having a great time!

Jessie B.

Fantastic experience! Set up was seamless, wines were excellent, and the Sommelier nailed it with just the right level of info to ensure our group had a great time.

Sam F.

Sommsation helped me bring friends together from 3,000 miles and lifetimes away -- dear friends who otherwise would never meet and certainly would never enjoy drinking wine together.

Scott F.

Wine tasting experiences offer a refreshing break from the ordinary, providing a memorable and meaningful way to celebrate.

Danielle D.

Great! Sent gifts of wine through the marketplace and also participated in Sunday School.

Juliet T.

My experience with Sommsation was truly exceptional! During Cyber Week, I seized the opportunity to explore a variety of wineries through their enticing deals. The wines arrived promptly the following week, impeccably packaged and ready to enrich my cellar for the holiday season. Each bottle I sampled surpassed my expectations, and when shared with friends and family, garnered nothing but praise. With Sommsation, it seems you can't go wrong. Highly recommended!

Joanne T.

This was a great event! I had a lovely time and look forward to another one in the future.

Marie M.

Lovenworth was a delight to speak with and was well-versed in wine geekery, but she promised that sessions are always geared toward the level of knowledge in the room. If you’ve never operated a corkscrew before, she’ll dial down the minutiae and take the audience back to basics.

Malk Family Vineyards Saturday Session Wine Set

2022 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc - This Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in neutral oak barrels, which adds creaminess to the texture of the wine without adding oak flavors. The richness imparted by the oak, when combined with the bright acidity and minerality, makes for a beautifully complex wine that should delight a wide variety of preferences. Traditional Sauvignon Blanc notes of fresh citrus, cut grass, and stone fruit are abundant on the palate; pair with grilled seafood, marinated chicken thighs, or goat cheese based dishes.

2021 Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir - The 2021 represents the more feminine side of the vintage, showing both elegance and concentration without compromising balance and finesse. It presents a little bit of everything a Malk Pinot Noir typically has - black cherry, fresh earth, English tea, hints of vanilla bean - but also has an additional layer of complexity with its more subtle notes of blueberry, violet, clove spice and traces of forest floor.

Malk Family Vineyards cannot ship to the following 6 states: AR, DE, MS, RI, UT, WV.

More about Malk Family VineyardsNapa Valley
Brian Malk's grandfather owned a vineyard in South Africa, and Brian's fond memories of spending time on the farm as a child is what sparked his desire to own a vineyard himself. He immigrated to the United States in 1978, and it was 20 years before his dream could be realized. In 1998, he purchased the property in Stags Leap District and planted Griffin Vineyard, paying homage to his beloved pup of the same name. Winemaker Robbie Meyer has been with Malk since day one, making the wine every vintage since their inaugural in 2003. As a young adult working in restaurants, he was fascinated by food and wine, and eventually moved to California to earn his Master's Degree in Enology from UC Davis. Since completing his studies about 25 years ago, he worked at several prestigious North Coast wineries before taking on the role at Malk and starting his own brand Peirson Meyer.
