The Story

At SOM we approach our winemaking far differently than a traditional winery: as a collective. We are a team of sommeliers, winemakers, and vignerons, all of who have an equal say in our wine production. We believe this intensively collaborative process shines through in the distinctiveness of our wines.

The Values

Well, when one of us would make a wine, on our own… most likely we would make a wine in the style of our favorite producer of that varietal. SOM doesn't do that - we love that each of us has a different background, different taste and very different experience. These differences make us stronger and every single time we produce a wine that has tension, vibrancy & movement. Collaboration is a gift, one that we don't take for granted in our wines.

From the winery

SOM Wines are inspired by terroir. We wanted to embody this on our labels, so we partnered with the talented, Darcy Edwin to capture the topographical map of each vineyard.
