The Values

Founded in 2011, brick & mortar focuses on single-vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, from select high-elevation vineyards. Like the great European wineries, they believe that the best wines express a unique time and place. So they let each of their distinct Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Mendocino Ridge vineyards speak for themselves, with minimal intervention. They pick early, ferment with native yeasts, and use oak and sulfur judiciously, resulting in low-alcohol wines of grace and finesse.
From the winery
We are focused on sustainability and environmental practices in our production. We’re believers that small steps will slowly make big impacts. We are mindful of our choices in the winery, our supply chain, shipping and our own travel, striving to reduce our carbon footprint in each area. We partnered with Cool Effect, based in San Francisco, CA whose mission is to reduce the carbon pollution that causes climate change. Working with Cool Effect, we neutralize our winery’s carbon footprint each year (266 tonnes). In 2021 we sponsored a forestry preservation project in Tennessee.
