Wine Flight
Clone 169 Cabernet Sauvignon - Mt Veeder 2018
Our clone 169 Cabernet sauvignon is a worthy addition to the family of Cabernet clones that Bell specializes in expressing. The dark, inky color in the glass draws you in to notes of rich wild berry, chaparral, and a subtle toast. The palate is the most primal of our clone wines, demonstrating a youthful, saturated wine with dark purple fruits , and with a hint of supportive oak. A long flavorful finish, balanced texture, and fine grained tannins frame the flavors and denote a wine that is going to be very long-lived, and certainly one of our favorites from this special vintage.
Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley 2018
This Clone 7 once again demonstrates why it's one of the most popular Cabernet Sauvignon clones grown in the Napa Valley. The inky color in the glass draws you in with aromas of purple fruits, earthy honeycomb, mandarin peel and cracked peppercorn, not to mention an almost floral hint and some savory sage. The taste delivers what the nose promises, with rich plum, blueberry, and chaparral herbal notes, ending with a kiss of old, weathered oak and unsweetened cocoa powder. There is an old world sensibility to this new world Cabernet, and an intangible feeling of a wine that is already more integrated and developed than would normally be expected in such a young wine. A long finish, with balanced acidity, and well-integrated but ageworthy tannins complement the complex flavors that are sure to please Cabernet lovers of all types, even those who appreciate the greatest wines of Bordeaux.
Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Our flagship clone proves again why it makes such an exceptional wine. A deep maroon color in the glass hints at the extraordinary depth and richness it possesses. Aromas of brandied cherries, cassis and cinnamon lead the experience. Rich purple fruits, kirsch, and sweet tobacco dominate the palate and are supported with nuances of violet, vanilla bean and bittersweet cacao. The well-structured tannins and deft acid balance promise a long life ahead. Be sure to give this beauty a good decant before enjoying.
